Famous Savannah historic home receives stunning remodel

518 E. Victory Drive, Savannah GA

This classic home sits on the famed Victory Drive in Savannah GA. It’s a very famous home, designed by Henrik Wallin. Several of Savannah’s elite have lived in this home.

It was imperative that we did this home justice! We were careful to pick finishes that would stand the test of time. We kept the primary layout the same. However, we opened up walls to bring it up-to-date with a floor plan most homeowners come to expect — having site lines from the kitchen to the dining room to the living room were a must.

Before After

Once we opened up the wall, it really turned into a true entertainer’s dream. We added oversized six-panel doors to the main outdoor spaces — giving the home a great party feel. The kitchen was one of the largest transformations, which included adding a massive island with a waterfall edge countertop, large wine fridge, chef’s appliances, high-end cabinets and a custom bar.

The master bedroom was another area where we made big changes. Combining the original master closet with the master bath, we made space for the laundry upstairs (facing into the hallway) and doubled the original size of the master bath.

We removed a bookcase and by doing so it opened up onto an old porch. We turned that porch into a huge walk-in closet and hired California Closets to custom build the cabinetry. The end result is amazing. It flows perfectly and used the space we had in a better way.
